1811 -- Gambler Robert Bailey opens hotels, operates gambling and revives Berkeley Springs as a fashionable resort. He leads its rebuilding.
1812 -- War fills Berkeley Springs with fashionable escapees from British danger.
1815 -- Roman Bath House and Gentlemens’ Spring House built. Both in use today.
